What is the best way to transfer a cake to the plate?
When baking a cake, cool in the mold which the oven, and then try to put on a plate. I always oil the pan. However, sometimes, the cake will crack as I am transfer to a cake plate. Does anyone have any tips to prevent this? No cakes much, but when I do, I want to avoid such accidents. Thank you! Jay, you mean a springform pan?
Two tricks that can save you some frustration with grease or oil of the pan, then put a piece of parchment paper on the bottom of the pan. Run knife around inside the pot as soon as the cake comes out of the oven. The cake is not blocked by the pan as it cools and the center nut to crack. This is particularly important with a cheese cake.
